Buildefine Privacy Policy

About this policy

The Buildefine app does not ask for, collect or store any personal information about you. This policy explains the limited technical data involved in running the app and how we handle it.

The app is published by Buildefine (Pty) Ltd of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (“Buildefine”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the Buildefine mobile app for Android (package com.buildefine.app).

Information we collect

The app has no accounts, sign-in or forms, so you never enter personal information into it. It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.

To show the task list, the app downloads it from our server at assets.buildefine.com over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. As with any website, that request automatically reveals some technical information to the server:

• your device’s IP address
• the date and time of the request
• basic request details, such as the address requested and the app’s network library

The app itself does not save this information, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

How we use information

We use the technical information above only to deliver the task list to your device and to keep our service secure and working, for example to detect abuse or fix errors. We do not use it to identify you, build a profile of you or show you advertising.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising or marketing. Two service providers handle data in the normal course of running the app:

• Cloudflare hosts and delivers our server content, so it processes the request details listed above. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
• Google Play distributes the app. Google handles downloads, updates and any reviews under Google’s privacy policy; we receive only summary statistics from Google Play, not your personal details.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, such as in response to a valid court order.

Storage, retention and security

The app stores no personal information on your device; uninstalling it removes everything it downloaded. Technical request logs held by our hosting provider are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted.

All communication between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS. Because our hosting provider operates worldwide, request data may be processed outside Australia.

Children’s privacy

The app is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it by contacting us using the details below. Because the app does not collect personal information, in most cases we will hold none. We will respond within 30 days.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Changes and contact

If the app starts collecting new kinds of information, for example when sign-in is added, we will update this policy before that change reaches you and revise the date at the top.
